Stoke City vs Tottenham, Spurs Win 1-3
Tottenham won the match against Stoke City in the Carabao Cup quarter-final duel on Thursday morning this morning. Jose Mourinho's team won 3-1.
Playing at Stoke City headquarters did not reduce the strength of the Lilywhites. They were dominant from the start and managed to create dangerous chances from the feet of strikers like Harry Kane and Dele Alli.
The result was seen in the 22nd minute, where Gareth Bale successfully vibrated the Stoke City goal. He took advantage of Harry Winks' cross and managed to score through his header. Tottenham also lead 1-0.
One goal advantage does not reduce the dominance as well as Tottenham's desire to break into Stoke City's goal again. Unfortunately, they were not able to change the 1-0 advantage until the referee ended the first half.
Second round
At the beginning of the second half, Tottenham got a surprise from Stoke City. Their Hugo Lloris goal went down in the 53rd minute after Jordan Thompson converted a Jacob Brown pass into goal. 1-1.
Tottenham back ahead when the game entered the 71st minute. Taking advantage of a wild ball swept by Harry Souttar, Ben Davies fired a long-range shot which Andy Lonergan failed to block. Tottenham lead 2-1.
Spurs' third goal was born in the 81st minute. Harry Kane's right-footed shot found the ball in Lonergan's net and sealed a place in the semifinals for the Lilywhites. Tottenham lead 3-1.
The position lasted until the referee blew the long whistle signaling the end of the match. As previously explained, this victory paved the way for Tottenham to reach the Carabao Cup semifinals.
